I was up early checking Apple Trailers to see if our trailer was up yet - and as I was riding my motorcycle to work it happened!
trailers.apple.com/trailers/
When we started this movie five years ago, I thought it would be a blast, because everything was wide open.  In a world without cars, jobs, secret formulas, villains, etc. we would be able to do anything we wanted.  It didn't take long for reality to sink in - this was going to be a lot tougher than we thought.  Staring into this limitless world that we would build according to our rules, we were suddenly coming to grip with just how wide open this world really was.  Like when you've finished all your chores and you finally find time to do a drawing - you run to your table, open your drawing pad (or your computer, if you're more modern than me) and stare into a blank page.  And if you're like me, it's not very long before you are wishing you had just a few boundaries.  Should I draw a monster?  A witch?  A bunny?  A bunny riding a monster fleeing a witch?  Ugh.  At that point I begin scribbling, looking for something.  It can take hours or days before I find it.

So we began the search for the Croods story.  No matter what, we wanted to end with a balance of scale, humor and depth.  And I feel we accomplished that.  This trailer focuses mainly on scale.  Later trailers will dig into the humor.  Enjoy!

I absolutely LUV the trailer! Nicholas Cage?! He fits Perfectly with the dad!, the girls hair style reminds me of Jeanie from "Ferris Buller", it cracked me TOTALLY up when the dad says 'careful, it looks dangerous' 'Dad! You say that about everything!' And Guy is like 'careful!' 'Oh, really?' Looks blushing to him and day's like 'ugh! Really?'. The narrator is the EXACT SAME GUY who does the "Clone Wars" show openings, and at the end when she like 'AAAAAAAAAHHH!! I love them! :D Where are my feet?!" Lol! Awesome word dude! Cant wait!

Thank you so, so very much for this movie! It had me laughing and crying. It was everything I love about going to the movies and everything I love about animation! From watching the trailers, I honestly thought it was going to be awful and I'm so glad I was wrong. I will NEVER doubt the greatness of your movies again.

I don't know if you'll ever see this comment.

My dream, like so many other people who have spoken to you or commented here or there or wherever... I really really really wanna get out there and make movies and give these ideas and characters I have a home thats not just inside my sketchbooks and notebooks.. I want it to be so much more. Much much more. I tried college and couldn't afford it so I was shipped back and forth from Florida to Maryland for a while. But no I'm here, in Florida again, all on my own with all my tools and a crappy computer. I just.. I hope I find a window to do what you do. Someday...

I just... maaaaan when I saw the Croods I didn't know what to expect. But it hit so many chords and feelings and there was that 15 minute part towards the end were I was a grown 29 man in the theater crying... that movie is gonna be on my list of favorite films ever.

I had a personal connection with Grug and Eep... but that scene where he's throwing her towards the sun to save her... It reminded me of how my father helped me move to Florida, forever, for a better throwing me to the sun... life and all that to get the roots started down here.. And ;-;...

It's only because I love your art so much that I'll refrain from scolding you for checking your phone while you were driving.
