I was up early checking Apple Trailers to see if our trailer was up yet - and as I was riding my motorcycle to work it happened!
trailers.apple.com/trailers/
When we started this movie five years ago, I thought it would be a blast, because everything was wide open.  In a world without cars, jobs, secret formulas, villains, etc. we would be able to do anything we wanted.  It didn't take long for reality to sink in - this was going to be a lot tougher than we thought.  Staring into this limitless world that we would build according to our rules, we were suddenly coming to grip with just how wide open this world really was.  Like when you've finished all your chores and you finally find time to do a drawing - you run to your table, open your drawing pad (or your computer, if you're more modern than me) and stare into a blank page.  And if you're like me, it's not very long before you are wishing you had just a few boundaries.  Should I draw a monster?  A witch?  A bunny?  A bunny riding a monster fleeing a witch?  Ugh.  At that point I begin scribbling, looking for something.  It can take hours or days before I find it.

So we began the search for the Croods story.  No matter what, we wanted to end with a balance of scale, humor and depth.  And I feel we accomplished that.  This trailer focuses mainly on scale.  Later trailers will dig into the humor.  Enjoy!

Hey Chris, how's it going?  I've been putting together a pro portfolio of my colorist work in a bid to maybe get some serious coloring gigs.  I still have a piece of yours I colored in 2011, and I was wondering if it'd be OK with you if I included it in the folio.  I would properly credit and link back to you, of course.  I don't know how one usually goes about getting permission for this sort of thing, so I figured I'd just ask.

Thank you for your dedication! And mostly, thank you for Lilo & Stitch. That is one ofv my favorite tv how's. When I watch the movies, I smile all the way through. Since I'm 14, I do realize that I'm still in childhood, but Lilo & Stitch is always in my heart.
I'm trying to take the steps like you do. I'm in a tv production class when I go to highschool in september, and I draw every day to keep my art up.
Once again, THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU'RE the one who made Lilo? My stars! I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say it's truly an honor to have you here on DeviantART! That film, its sequels, and the TV series that followed it hold a very nostalgic part in my growing up and I treasure the memories of watching that adorable little girl and her funny alien friend getting into shenanigans  I hope that you continue to spark the imaginations of your audience and bring smiles to people's faces, whether you're working with Disney or some other company, I want you to give others the same warm memories you gave me with your enchanting and lovable characters
Keep up the excellent work, good morrow and peace be with you!
